Hello all-
I’ll be in Houston from March 23rd through the 27th participating in a group of portfolio reviews as part of FotoFest. My reviews are scattered throughout each day leaving me large chunks of free time during which I’d love to meet with anyone to discuss their work or my own; I’m very eager to see the other participants’ portfolios. For the most part, I expect to be outside the review space and would welcome an opportunity to meet with anyone interested.
I’m lucky enough to have a great line-up of reviewers including Liz Anders (Kinzelman Art Consulting), Burt Finger (PDNB Gallery), Roy Flukinger (Harry Ransom Research Center), Frazier King (Houston Center for Photography) and Miriam Romais (EnFoco), and that’s just the first day.
Below is a sample of the new work I’ll be showing.

Hello all-
I have six pieces from my Epithet series in a group exhibition, Cartography of the Whole Mind, at the Gallery of the Common Experience at Texas State San Marcos opening Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010. I’ll be at the opening reception, and would be happy to talk with anyone interested about this series, or the work I’m currently shooting.
“The exhibit explores the multiple functions of our brains – how we think, feel, process, dream; calculate, imagine, organize, create, remember; forget, know, believe, analyze, synthesize; hypothesize, rationalize, generalize; sympathize, harmonize, memorize, characterize; galvanize, computerize, and empathize.”
Opening reception: Wednesday, February 17, 2010; 3pm – 5pm

Hello all-
I have four pieces from my Social Landscapes series in a group exhibition, Tell me everything, as you remember it, show at Creative Research Laboratories in Austin on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009. The show is curated by Leona Scull-Hons, an amazing performance artist and the Assistant Registrar at SAMA.
The show also features work by Bas Jan Ader, Myranda Bair, Susan Chen, Kate Gilmore, Justin Goldwater, David Horvitz, Jason Bailer Losh, John Mata and Stephanie McMahon.
“Though our individual memory can alter how we each convey our message or story, we are made up of all we have met and all we have seen. Communication, whether successful or unsuccessful, is an attempt to connect to a being other than oneself. The motive to connect to one another can stem from the fear of being alone within a social environment—the fear that our side of the story might not be heard or seen—or the fear of being forgotten once we are gone and that we merely disappear. When the connection is successful, there is an indelible mark made, which in turn can resonate and touch others indefinitely. In the end, this is how we are remembered.”

Opening reception: Saturday, October 17, 2009; 6pm – 9pm
Exhibition dates: October 17, 2009 – November 7, 2009

Hello all-
I’ve really become engrossed in the new Everyday Problem series. Here are a few more images. If anyone comes across any everyday problems, let me know.

Hello all-
I’ve started shooting a new series of images based around everyday problems. Along the lines of the Social Landscape images, these focus on small, inconspicuous moments. I’ve been thinking about the idea of finding a common union between people in small struggles often encountered by people.
Here are two working images from the new series:
Hello all-
I’ve uploaded a large group of images from my Social Landscapes series to the Artwork section of my website. I’d love to hear any reactions to them.
I’m also starting to collect everyday problems (ie step in gum, flat tire) so if anyone thinks of any, or comes across one, I’d love to hear about it.
